Fundraiser: “Dirty Wars” film February 22

We will be holding an outdoor public screening of Jeremy Scahill’s film Dirty Wars on February 22nd 2014 at 8:45pm at the GraceTree community, 106 Nicholson St Coburg. In case of inclement weather we will move the screening indoors.

This event is a fundraiser for the 2014 Swan Island Peace Convergence, so we’re requesting donations of $15 waged $10 unwaged. There will also be opportunities to purchase the book on the night.

Planting trees in a military facility

17 people entered walked though the gate, with 2 being blocked early on, but many walked straight into the military facility where they sat and prayed, planting a vine and fig tree to symbolise the vision of a new world where everyone has enough. 15 protestors gain access to Swan Island

This morning 15 protestors opened the gate and walked across the bridge to the swan island military facility. They were armed with a vine and fig tree.     All were later escorted off the island and told they will be charged at a later date, but as yet no charges have been laid.

First two days
